「無条件の愛」を描くテンペラ画家

匂坂祐子（YUKO SAGISAKA）
1961年、静岡県富士市生まれ。5歳の時、聖母幼稚園で見たラファエロの聖母子像の優しさに魅了され画家を志す。
東海大学短期大学部生活芸術コース卒業。
世界はすべて愛でつながっている「無条件の愛」をテーマに、板に描く「黄金背景テンペラ古典技法」と「油彩・テンペラ混合技法」を駆使して制作しています。
2000年にモナコ日本フェスティバルで寄贈した作品がモナコ王室に所蔵され、その後、エジンバラをはじめとする世界各国のアートフェアに招待されます。確かな古典技法と詩的な叙情性、優美な色彩が評価され、ミラノでの個展では「ボッティチェルリの再来」と称されました。2007年にはローマ法王ベネディクト16世に作品を献上しています。
人生の中で経験した病気や事故、両親との別れ、そして二度の臨死体験を通じて、「生と死を超えた魂の救済」こそが私の永遠のテーマとなりました。人間の存在意義や希望の光を、西洋と東洋の文化を融合させながら、少女、猫、宇宙、日本の神仏などのモチーフを通して表現しています。
アートには、混沌とした時代を乗り越える力があると信じています。私の作品は、「心が洗われるような愛と光を贈る」というメッセージを込めた、テンペラ画による祈りの表現です。

Profile
Yuko Sagisaka
Born in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, in 1961. Yuko Sagisaka decided to become an artist at the age of five, captivated by the gentleness of Raphael’s Madonna and Child she saw at her kindergarten. She graduated from the Department of Art and Design at Tokai University Junior College.
Her core theme is “Unconditional Love,” believing that everything in the world is connected by it. She creates her works using two techniques: the “Classical Tempera Technique with a Gold Background” on wood panels, and the “Oil-Tempera Mixed Technique,” which was popular during the Northern Renaissance.
In 2000, her work, donated at the Japan Festival in Monaco, became part of the collection of the Monégasque Royal Family. Since then, she has been invited to festivals and art fairs worldwide, including in Edinburgh. Her solid classical technique, poetic lyricism, and graceful colors have been highly praised, and at a solo exhibition in Milan, she was hailed as “The Return of Botticelli.” In 2007, she presented a piece to Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican.
Through her life experiences—illness, the loss of her parents, and two near-death experiences—she found her eternal theme: “The salvation of the soul that transcends life and death.” She expresses the meaning of human existence and the light of hope by fusing Eastern and Western cultures, using motifs such as maidens, cats, and Japanese gods and goddesses.
She believes that art has the power to overcome the chaos of our times. Her work is a prayer expressed through tempera painting, conveying the message: “To give love and light that cleanse the heart.”
